where's the candid camera??

Today has been one of those days.  So much one of those days, that I feel bad even admitting that it is MONDAY . . . . because I don't really want to be one of those people who mopes around at the beginning of every work week and gets accused of the annoying "Case of the Mondays" business.  I do have to admit that the fact that it is indeed Monday may have made today a little more difficult.
Do I look like a morning person?

5:15AM: Wake up at what feels like 4:00AM to the sound of Mr. MHH's phone alarm clock going off while he showers.
5:30AM: Mr. MHH finally gets out of the shower and turns off his alarm clock, at which time I roll over and go back to sleep.
5:45AM: Mr. MHH comes into the bedroom and announces that Dally successfully did all her business outside (success!)
6:00AM: Wake up to the sound of Mr. MHH scolding Dally, who has apparently peed all over the bedroom floor, even though she had been taken out 15 minutes earlier. (this has to be some puppy joke)
6:30AM: Wake up to the sound of my annoying phone alarm clock.  Push snooze.
6:35AM: Snooze again
6:40AM: Snooze again
6:45AM: Finally drag myself out of bed, down the hall to my bathroom.
6:50AM: Debate showering, run hands through hair, decided shower was absolutely necessary.
7:00AM Out of the shower, realize Munchkin is no where to be found.

*** I must insert here that Munchkin not being found wouldn't be a big deal if she hadn't been having some recent issues with being outside.  There was the "I'm running away, you jerks" last week, but the more significant incident was Saturday morning.***
She only looks well behaved
When Mr. MHH got up Saturday morning and was outside with Dally, he heard a very strange almost scream-like noise.  He began looking around the yard, and into the neighbors right next to ours.  Suddenly, he saw Munchkin dash across the neighbor's yard--- followed closely by a much larger red fox.  Munchkin managed to get all the way to the fence, but got herself cornered.  Mr. MHH to the rescue-- began throwing rocks at the fox and yelling to try to scare it away... and stop our kitty from being breakfast.  The fox eventually backed down and Munchkin did not die, however I am now worried about her being outside as the hungry fox obviously knows where she lives.

7:05AM: Search the upstairs for Munchkin, the downstairs, the garage, open the front door and call to her, open the backyard and call to her... all in a towel.
7:15AM: Call Mr. MHH to see if there was ANY way she had gotten out.  He said he didn't think so, but there was always a chance.
7:20AM: Pull back on pajamas, galoshes, raincoat and venture out into the POURING rain looking for Munchkin-- hoping to not find her being eaten by the villainous fox.
7:25-7:40AM: Search neighborhood, wet hair getting wetter. Pajamas getting weird looks from neighborhood, no cat in sight.

7:45AM: Return home, soaking wet and muddy to find Munchkin sitting on back porch waiting to be let inside.
7:50AM: Debate showering, look in mirror to find mud on face, shower.
8:15AM: Pull on jeans only to discover dog had gotten to them (remind me again why I got a dog?)
8:20AM: FINALLY out the door! (In the rain)

Yes, that's a cat getting into a pool full of water

Munchkin is about to earn herself either a shock collar or a cage, since throwing her in the pool is no longer a threat.  Dally is about to get a dog house.

The morning at the office was productive (thankfully) and I decided to break from my normal "I don't take a lunch break unless I'm going to the gym " and go to lunch at Noodles and Company with my work friend Scooter.  We had a great lunch- mac&cheese for him (that looked incredible) and some healthy soup and salad for me.  We chatted and laughed, and none of it required me to crawl through mud or get rained on.

On the way back to the office, I convinced Scooter to stop by our building snack shop so I could get some candy.  (Yes sometimes a girl just wants/needs some chocolate).  I couldn't decide between peanut butter m&m's and reeses peanut butter cups- minis.  So, I bought them both.  LUCKILY, I also ate them both.  (Way to go on that healthy lunch).

The dinner of lemon garlic mahi-mahi with a balsamic reduction and sauteed veggies I made for Mr. MHH hopefully eases the transition into Tuesday.

White wine, and a late night date night with the Mr. and a change from heels into my slippers makes this Denver girl a happy Mrs.

Until tomorrow!
